What happens when you complete the Atlas Path in no man's sky? ›

The mission proper ends once the decision is made; both options will grant the player the ability to see Black Holes on the Galaxy Map without the assistance of Polo, but the Star Seed blueprint will be awarded only if the player chooses to birth a new star.

If the player chooses to refuse the Atlas, they and their starship will be teleported back to the exotic planet reached via the final interface portal, with the starship located around 500 units away, and the mission will conclude immediately.

There are a total of 11 Interfaces associated with The Atlas Path mission, which can only be completed once.

Follow the in-game guidance. I recommend the Artemis Path first, because that mixes with the Expanding the Base mission. Do Atlas Path later. The story is also told from a lot of different angles, like the abandoned building tell a side, so do crashed freighters and ancient ruins.

It is heavily recommended that you birth a star to get the Star Seed blueprint. Doing so will move you to a new galaxy, far away from the one that you were in right before you selected to birth a star.

It is also important to note that you do not consume a pass by using them, so you only need to get one once, and a higher tier pass can open anything a lower-tier pass can. So if you get an Atlas Pass V3, you can use it to open all doors and containers requiring a V1 or V2 pass.

No Man's Sky is not a game with an endpoint. You're given the primary goal of reaching the centre of the universe though, without spoiling it directly, this becomes a recurring goal.

Nothing particular happens at the end of the atlas path. You can see black holes on the galaxy map, you get a blueprint reward and that is it. There is a bug with the atlas path : it reappears on your log after completion (when you enter a system that has an atlas station).

If you get to the mission 16-16; stop & complete the Atlas Path & all other missions first. Completing 16-16 before Atlas Path (and some other missions) can often cause lots of bugs. If you are returning from before the Waypoint update, I strongly recommend starting over.

If players choose to ride the alien, they can ride it for as long as they want, but as soon as they dismount, the alien will not be tame and it will go about its business. Players can choose to throw out more bait to woo the creatures again.

For each map completed under certain conditions, you gain an Atlas completion Bonus. Each Bonus adds a 1% chance for a map to drop one tier higher, with each 100% chance automatically upgrading the tier of the dropped map.

The main quest is more of a tutorial than anything else, after you complete it you can choose to go to a different galaxy with different setups for example a lush galaxy where earth like planets are more common, as for the end game you can keep exploring new systems, discovering new planets and creatures, doing ...

At the end of each expedition (when the timer runs out), the player may choose to convert their save to a new Normal game, and continue to play the save in the Normal universe; or delete the save. The main rewards for each expedition become available on all saves from the Quicksilver Merchant (if you unlocked them).
