Solar System Themed Cakes
Way too cute sun and planet cake for the younger kiddos! This adorable cake is sure to delight your little astronaut. Head on over to cakegoodness.com for tips for this cake. (You’ll probably need cake pops for the planets).
Solar System Surprise Cake!
Your little astronaut will love this cake! The outside features blue icing, rocket ships, stars and planets. But wait until they cut into it and surprise! They will find the sun, mars, earth and other planets are hidden cleverly inside! Since the recipe is a little hard to find, I added it to a recipe card for “star bakers!”
As shown in the recipe, you’ll make the planets with “cake pops” of different colors. There are a couple of cake pop bakers available: this one is similiar to a waffle maker or a silicone cake pop mats. Of course, you’ll also need a white cake recipe and plenty of food coloring.

Outer space decorations
For in person – or drive by – birthdays! Cute outer space birthday sign for the lawn – easy to edit!
Have a few left over empty plastic bottles? Spray with silver metallic spray paint, add some flames (orange felt or tissue paper will work) and attach to a cardboard “backpack”. Not only is this fun for the kids, it’s easy – and inexpensive to do! You can also make fuel tanks for the party guests too – and attach them to the chairs for a fun decoration.

Moon Rock Hunt
