Sybil played guitar and sang on local radio station as a young girl. She had a beautiful voice which was trained by professionals and continued her love of singing through OL Slaton Junior High school and Lubbock Senior High. Sybil graduated from Lubbock High School, a proud Westerner who cheered on her future husband, William A. Hallmark, "Billy", during high school football seasons and 4A state championship in 1952.
