SGF2024 kicks off, packed with over 50 companies set to reveal more details on various titles. This event will be followed by several more presentations for a grand 4-day game announcement season. Read on for more info and everything we know so far.

Sid Meier’s: Civilization VII

Sid Meier’s genre-defining Civilization series is getting another installment with the latest simulation of humanity’s grand design, Civilization VII! Dive into the rich history of humanity’s achievements and take control of your very own civilization as it expands, innovates, and conquers the world before it. So it shall be in Sid Meier’s Civilization VII!

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero Release Date Trailer

The highly-anticipated game featuring the world’s most popular saiyans has finally revealed its release date. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero will be released on October 11, 2024 for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. There will be pre-order bonuses, including six characters unlocked at the start and a hidden playable character. The game also has a Premium Collector’s Edition, which includes a Lenticular Card, a steel book, a metallic bookmark, etc.

Monster Hunter Wilds New Trailer and Upcoming Playable Demo

Summer Game Fest livestream viewers were treated with more Monster Hunter Wilds content with the showcase of its characters, domains, story sections, and, of course, monsters. Of particular interests were the monster interactions and the new ones that were in full display. Environmental hazards were also showcased, such as quicksands of the Windward Plains.

Monster Hunter Wilds’ highly-anticipated 2025 release will be prefaced by a playable demo on the upcoming Gamescom 2024 show floor.

Palworld Sakurajima Update

Palworld's Sakurajima update will add an entire island for players to explore. Its geography, architecture, culture, and diversity work together to recreate a solid Japanese aesthetic. New Pals, Pal subspecies, and raids will also be added for players to tackle, as well as an entirely new faction and boss to occupy the island. To accommodate the increased scale of your base network, new buildings will also be added to the game, and the players' level caps will be increased to support them. Most notable of all, however, is that Xbox players will finally get dedicated server options to play with friends.

Palworld's Sakurajima Update will drop on June 27, 2024.

Metaphor: ReFantazio Presentation

The developers of the beloved PERSONA series took to the stage of Summer Game Fest to further showcase their newest upcoming title, Metaphor:ReFantazio! They disclose that Metaphor will feature heroes with the ability to transform into ‘jobs’ called ‘Archetypes’ that lie dormant within their heart, enabling them to channel various powerful abilities rooted in those Archetypes. Metaphor is said to contain over 40 Archetypes, where each young hero will have the chance to awaken their power from within and take down powerful foes in their way!

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II

Following the standard wartime exploits of the franchise's iconic space marines, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine II will be a mix of third person shooter gameplay and melee hack-and-slash action, with abundant opportunities to get down and dirty against Tyrannids. Alternatively, players can fight against themselves in different PvP modes. The game will be released on September 9, 2024, with pre-orders available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Phantom Blade 0 New Trailer

Phantom Blade Zero is a role-playing action game with soulsike elements and Asian-inspired aesthetics. Striking the same vein as Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Nioh, and Rise of the Ronin in terms of gameplay, Phantom Blade Zero tells the story of an assassin named Soul. Framed for the murder of the leader of The Order, Soul only has 66 days to defeat his enemies and clear his name before death comes for him a second time.

LEGO Horizon Adventures Coming to PC, PS5, and Nintendo Switch

LEGO Horizon Adventures is a newly announced LEGO game in the world of Guerilla’s highly acclaimed Horizon series, starring the "amazing video game lead," Aloy! The game is a fully LEGO-lized rendition of Horizon’s exhilarating world full of post-apocalyptic LEGO dinosaurs where Aloy and the gang use their LEGO powers to survive! Aloy retains some of her moveset, with some fun new additions from the world of LEGO, being able to swiftly construct things out of thin air, while also being able to customize her outfit with various costumes!

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions

Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions is a multiplayer co-op title about the iconic ball game from the Harry Potter series. It will be released on September 3, 2024 for the PlayStation, Xbox Nintendo Switch, and PC. It will also be available from day 1 with a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Star Wars Outlaws Teaser Trailer

Star Wars Outlaws is an open world RPG based on the Star Wars franchise. It features a wide variety of activities to do, quests to accomplish, familiar faces to interact with, and the iconic vehicular and light saber fights of the series. The game is set in the one year gap between the events of Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi following Kay Vess, a pickpocket from Canto Bight, and her partner Nix. It's set to release on August 30, 2024.

Batman: Arkham Shadow

There’s a new darkness overtaking Gotham in the Metaquest exclusive VR game and the newest addition to the Arkham series, Batman: Arkham Shadow. The Rat King has infested Gotham’s streets with riotous uproar and mass destruction. Don the cowl of the caped crusader himself as you experience the same blend of exploration, stealth, and free-flowing combat the series is known for. Will you be able to find the Rat King? Find out in Batman: Arkham Shadow, releasing exclusively on Meta Quest 3 later this year.

Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a brand new Power Rangers beat-’em-up game where it harkens back to the iconic games of old! Brandishing a retro pixel art style with a bit of modern polish, the game is a four-player beat-’em-up where you and your friends can go against the most memorable villains of the franchise, where at the end is the evil Rita! Not only is it a classical beat-’em-up, but it also doubles as an arcade rail shooter, where you and your friends must shoot foes on screen as you maneuver your rangers on land, or on rollercoasters!

Cuff Bust

Cuff Bust is a chaotic co-op game where players must work together as a team of cute and cuddle aliens in prison… and break out by any means necessary! Take down guards with a spoon, give them the literal slip by tossing soap at their feet, steal their ID cards, blow up doors, toilets, and walls, all for the taste of freedom! Your small team will be competing against other teams in a race to see who gets to escape first! So either prioritize getting out, or do everything in your power to sabotage the other prisoners to allow your escape! Heck, you can even betray your own teammates and get out alone! Again. By any. Means. Necessary.

Cairn

The life and challenges of an alpinist are yours to conquer in the unique mountain-climbing gameplay of Cairn. Achieve increasingly greater summits as you ascend through the sheer mountain faces and treacherous outcrops of various challenging mountains. Cairn isn’t just about finishing a climb, however, it’s also about surviving the climb. Battle through, hunger, thirst, and fatigue as every step closer to the summit becomes more challenging than the last.

WANDERSTOP

From the creator of The Stanley Parable and The Beginner’s Guide comes a cozy narrative-centric game about running a tea shop in the forest. Playing as a fallen fighter named Alta, you must learn to manage the teashop despite your reluctance to live a relaxed life. As people pass through, you must fulfill their orders and come to terms with your new life with your companion Boro. If this game is anything like its creator’s other games, expect some narrative shenaniganry to occur. Regardless, the tea is steeped and the flowers bloom in WANDERSTOP, coming to the PC and PlayStation 5 sometime in 2024.

Tears of Metal

Tears of Metal is a medieval hack-and-slash roguelike with co-op functionality. Players are tasked with punching through hordes of enemies to reclaim their characters' homeland with the help of their formidable Scottish battalion. Troops can be upgraded by increasing their size and giving them permanent upgrades as they acquire experience and grow stronger. The game can be wishlisted on Steam.

Deer & Boy

Deer & Boy is a touching musical story of friendship between man and beast. It is a cinematic platformer that centers around the journey of a young boy chasing after a fate that isn’t yet his own. Along the way, he will meet with a fawn that will accompany him on his journey before slowly reaching adulthood. The deer is instrumental in the boy’s journey, as not only does it serve as his guardian, but also as his inspiration to reach maturity himself.

No More Room in Hell 2

The sequel to an award-winning Source mod from 2011 is finally here with No More Room in Hell 2! Dive into an 8-player bid for survival as you and your friends search for solace in a dark and zombie-infested world. Outlast the dangers ahead in a thrilling perma-death skirmish through the shadows. The dead will walk the earth once more in No More Room in Hell 2.

Battle Aces

Battle Aces is a fast-paced real-time strategy game where you must outplay your opponent by overtaking their units, technologies, and schemes. It’s designed to be accessible for all skill levels. It’s also designed such that strategizing begins before the match even starts using its Unit Deck system. This allows players to customize their lineups in advance. Battle Aces can be wishlisted on Steam. Registration for beta testing can also be done by heading to the game’s official website.

Dark and Darker

If you’re itching for a first-person D&D experience and sorcery’s more up your alley than guns, then Dark and Darker is the dungeon-delving experience for you. Lace up your adventuring boots and don your shiniest armor as you dive into a dank dungeon with treasure ripe for the taking. You’re not delving on your own, however, as other adventurers might be out and about for the same treasure and they’re not too keen on sharing. The dungeon beckons in Dark and Darker, available now on Steam and Epic Games.

Sonic X Shadow Generations

Sonic the Hedgehog is out and about again on yet another high-speed adventure in Sonic X Shadow Generations. Run, jump, and spindash your way through brand-new worlds as your favorite blue speedster or the franchise’s favorite black-quilled anti-hero. See what shenanigan’s Robotnik is up to this time around in Sonic X Shadow Generations, coming to the PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 25, 2024. Street Fighter 6 Season 2 DLC

Street Fighter 6’s season 2 lineup of characters have been announced in its entirety, and the fighting game community has been left in shock as Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from the King of Fighters series come to the latest iteration of the legendary fighting game franchise! Revealed one by one in an anime-esque trailer that momentarily fooled audiences into either a Street Fighter anime series or another Capcom vs SnK game, the trailer later confirms that Terry Bogard, the Mai Shiranui, Elena, and the long-awaited M. Bison will comprise SF6’s upcoming characters for its season 2 in year 2.

M. Bison is slated to come out as early as Summer 2024, with a trailer scheduled to premiere soon!

Kingdom Come Deliverance II Saints and Sinners Trailer

Man proposes but God disposes in Warhorse Studios’ follow-up to their 2018 hit of the same name, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Follow Henry in his journey to avenge his murdered parents. Watch as your quest takes you from the humble beginnings of a blacksmith’s forge to the grand court of kings. Bask in over 5 hours of cinematics as Henry’s story unfolds from the cradle of an aspiring warrior to a true rebel.

Your open-world experience is set amidst the chaos of a civil war in 15th-century Bohemia. Will your path spell righteousness or vice? Only you can shape the history of the world around you in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, coming this 2024 to PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.

Hyper Light Breaker

Hyper Light Breaker is an action co-op rogue-lite that features third person shooter and hack-and-slash gameplay. Players will enter the Overgrowth to defeat the Crowns and the Abyss King with the aid of a variety of weapons, items, and upgrades. The resources players earn on every run can be used to upgrade their settlements. Hyper Light Breaker will be released on Early Access this late summer.

Mecha BREAK

Mecha BREAK is an upcoming action sci-fi game featuring giant mechas. Each of the mechs can be customized freely, allowing for diverse gameplay and builds that suit their player’s needs. The game supports squads of 3 or 6 players in a massive battle royale of up to 60 players simultaneously.

Mecha BREAK is currently available for wishlisting on Steam and PS5.

Once Human Release Date Reveal

The dangerous and the bizarre come out of the woodwork in the surreal world of Once Human, a post-apocalyptic open-world survival game by Starry Studio and NetEase Games. Unite with friends and go on epic adventures across a mutant-filled world. Collect resources, build your own base, and defend your territory from the encroaching threat. Once you were merely human. Now, you wield the power to remake the world in Once Human, available for the PC on July 09, 2024.

Killer Bean PC Game Trailer

Killer Bean is an upcoming game starring the titular character in a game with several action-packed missions where he must use all in his assassin training under the Shadow Agency to enact his revenge. Play the game in first or third person, go in bullet time and take down enemies, go up and suplex unfortunate fools, breakdance to dodge enemy bullets, and even take down hordes of zombie beans zombeans! Follow Killer Bean in his quest for revenge that will take him to land, sky, and sea!

FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves New Trailer

Relive SNK’s popular fighting game franchise in its latest installment, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves. The game is coming to the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in early 2025. It can be wishlisted on the listed platforms, but as of yet, it cannot be pre-purchased.

The First Descendant Update

The wait is almost over for The First Descendant’s full release! The next-gen shooter with next-gen graphics is nearly here and we’re just a few weeks away from joining the fight against invaders for the survival of humanity. Get ready to experience a spectacular story punctuated by bombastic action set-pieces in the highly detailed environments of Unreal Engine 5. Bring up to 3 other players into the fight for humanity in The First Descendant, coming to the PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One on July 2, 2024.

Dune: Awakening Update

Dune: Awakening’s Summer Game Fest trailer describes a world where the hypothetical situation of the series’ main protagonist, Paul Atreides, wasn’t born. A cascade of new events that would ultimately lead to the survival of their house would occur, and a vastly different scenario would play out. However, the end result is still undesirable in almost every scenario except when a certain individual becomes involved — the player.

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess Update

Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess’ release date was unveiled in their Summer Game Fest 2024 appearance. According to the trailer, the game will be released on July 19 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, PS5, and PS4. It will also be available on the Xbox Game Pass. Pre-orders for the game are available now.

Alan Wake 2 Update and DLC Announcement

The Night Springs Expansion Launch Trailer for Alan Wake 2 features a compilation of scenes from the upcoming DLC, set with a backdrop of incredibly hype music. It sets a lighthearted mood for the expansion, despite the base game's roots in horror. It also features the return of Jesse Faden from Remedy Entertainment's other title, Control. Players can access the expansion by availing the Alan Wake 2 Expansion Pass, which is currently included in the Digital Deluxe Edition.

The Finals Season 3 Announcement

After its spectacular release in early December 2023 during The Game Awards, THE FINALS is entering its third season with a bunch of new content in tow, including a new arena and game mode.

Go for the gold among the sakura flowers of the new Kyoto 1568 arena, go on a 5v5 skirmish in the new Terminal Attack game mode, or experiment with the new weapons and gadgets included in the new season. Whatever you choose to do, make sure you win, because only one team can make it to THE FINALS. See you in the arena on June 13, 2024!

Black Myth: Wukong Pre-Orders Available

After many months of waiting, Black Myth: Wukong can finally be pre-ordered ahead of its launch on August 20, 2024. The game follows one of the disciples of the Buddhist monk Tang Sanzang, Sun Wukong the Monkey King, who was released from underneath a mountain. It is priced at $59.99 on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Honkai: Star Rail Update

Honkai: Star Rail is leaving Penacony, the Planet of Festivities, in search of new adventure! The upcoming version will feature Firefly/SAM, who were instrumental in the Astral Express' success against Sunday in the Dreamscape, as well as the third of the Ten Stonehearts, Jade, who served as the one who recruited the young Aventurine into the Interastral Peace Corporation. The trailer also showed a preview of fellow Nameless March 7th's new form, which features her wielding swords instead of her usual bow.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for mobile, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Party Animals 2024 Update

Better keep that party going because Party Animals just dropped a new gameplay montage trailer, showcasing exciting animal-on-animal party action across a bunch of new stages. The trailer highlights new "Super Pawers," including abilities that let you roll like a ball, gain super speed, smash the ground, and electrocute others.
Alongside these new powers, the game introduces brand-new stages to keep the party going. "Party Animals" is available on Steam and Xbox and will be joining the Steam Summer Sale starting June 27, 2024.

Unknown 9: Awakening New Trailer

Unknown 9’s story trailer features the game’s protagonist, Haroona, as she is given the background information on the Sahin, or the Unknown 9. The game’s narrative will center around Haroona defending their people’s ways. As a Quaestor, she is gifted with abilities that let her venture into another dimension, the Fold. But she would come to learn that with power comes responsibilities, as she becomes the target of Ascendants.

Battle Crush Early Access Trailer

Battle Crush is an upcoming MOBA/action brawler that involves a lobby of up to 30 players fighting for complete dominance against each other. It is finally opening its doors for pre-registration over at the game's official website or on Steam. There will be several rewards for those who pre-register from Steam, including a skin for Freyja, a Premium Calixer Trial Pack, and 5 free profile images. Email registrations can also obtain Freyja's weapon skin.

Enotria: The Last Song

Mark your calendars for September 19, 2024, as "Enotria: The Last Song" arrives on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Its most recent trailer revealed the game's stunning visuals, dynamic combat, and captivating story in a masterful cinematic cutscene involving the game’s main character and their mask-taking abilities.
Pre-orders are now open, offering the following exclusive bonuses:

Delta Force: Hawk Ops New Trailer

Delta Force: Hawk Ops is a free-to-play tactical shooter that will be available in all platforms, from PC, to consoles, to mobile devices! Players will team up in a four-person squad to go on various missions where teamwork and coordination will be key! Plan missions ahead in pre-mission briefings, scout guards and enemies ahead, and have flawless teamplay with your teammates whether from afar to take down guards in their way, or up close and personal against a flamethrower-wielding enemy.

Delta Force: Hawk Ops will be having a global PC Alpha test this coming July, 2024, where you can pre-register now on their website!

Slitterhead Gameplay Trailer

Slitterhead’s gameplay abundant with body horror gave the audience a glimpse of its gritty, in-your-face combat. Several weapons were shown, such as swords, miniguns, and claws. Enemy animations, navigation tools, and body-jumping abilities were also part of the showcase. The game will be released on Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on November 8, 2024.

Neva Gameplay Trailer

Neva is a brand-new heartwarming 2d side-scrolling action adventure platformer game with gorgeous art and music from the creators of Gris! It will feature Alba, a young woman who comes across a wolf cub "following a traumatic encounter with dark forces." They will journey together through various lands that were once beautiful but now decaying. With each other, they must venture and brace against the harmful forces that try to hinder them.

New World: Aeternum

Players take on the role of a shipwrecked explorer who finds himself on the mysterious island of Aeternum. The land is filled with danger, but also with opportunity. Explore Aeternum's vast, beautiful world while foraging to survive. The game supports solo and cross-platform co-op, and even PvP battles. The game is available for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and will be released on October 15, 2024.

The award-winning Skate franchise is back with an update from M-Corp and the franchise’s latest entry, skate. Run, grind, and skate around the empty streets and railings of an entire city abandoned by M-Corp. Bring your friends to the half-pipe and skate to your heart’s content in skate.’s console playtesting period, coming in Fall 2024.

Asgard’s Wrath 2 Accolades Trailer

Asgard’s Wrath 2 is a Meta Quest 3 exclusive VR title where players embody a Nordic god who must possess mortals in order to re-achieve their immortality after being tricked by Loki, the Trickster god. Asgard’s Wrath 2 already came out back in late 2023 during the Game Awards, and was advertised once more by Geoff Keighly for the Summer Game Fest, showing off its numerous accolades since its release.

Valorant Coming to Consoles

Attention all agents, Valorant is making its way to consoles. Starting June 14, a limited beta will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players, giving console-only fans a first taste of the game's strategic gameplay and diverse roster of agents in intense 5v5 skirmishes.

To participate in the limited beta, interested players can sign up at beta.playvalorant.com. However, console availability may vary by territory, so be sure to check for local access.

Squad Busters Celebrity Laden Ad

Squad Busters, a multiplayer mobile party game, released a star-studded live-action trailer featuring the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Will Arnett, and Ken Jeong.

Blumhouse Games Announcement

Blumhouse, the studio behind horror hits like "Five Nights at Freddy’s," "M3GAN," and "The Black Phone," is expanding its terror-inducing repertoire into the world of video games. Partnering with renowned creators, including "Silent Hill" writer Sam Barlow and filmmaker Brandon Cronenberg, Blumhouse Games is set to release a lineup of unique horror games.

Outersloth Game Funds Announcement

Outersloth is an indie game fund started by the developers of Among Us, Innersloth, as a passion project. It is meant to assist independent developers in getting the funding they require to get their games shipped and released into the world. Games they have assisted include Mars First Logistics, Battle Suit Aces, Mossfield Archives, One BTN Bosses, and Rogue Eclipse.

Among Us Animated Series Sneak Peek

A short compilation of the upcoming Among Us Animated Series was showcased, which featured the crewmates performing their tasks while they are slowly picked off by the Impostor. Unfortunately, no release date was specified by the end of its time slot.

Organized and hosted by game journalist Geoff Keighley, the Summer Game Fest is a 2-hour live showcase featuring updates from the world's top game development studios.
