Time: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) Time is rarely overtly didactic -- there’s no time for impassioned monologues or grand gestures when the passing of each day grinds at everyone and trying to do the right thing can exact a damaging cost. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 28, 2022 Full Review Time: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Graeme Blundell The Australian Under Arnold's documentary-style direction, intensely realistic, Time is relentless, unnerving and urgent storytelling, TV drama that matters. Jul 9, 2021 Full Review Time: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald Bean's and Graham's performances are as brilliantly contained and captivating as you'd expect, and there's great casting across the board as a small host of supporting players flesh out the milieu and the issues McGovern wants to get to. Rated: 4.5/5 Jul 7, 2021 Full Review Time: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Milagros Amondaray La Nación (Argentina) Time is brief but leaves an indelible footprint by delivering conclusions that are hard to swallow and raising questions that don't have answers; we must accept the most inflexible truths. Jean S This show was clearly not written by anyone who spent a hour in a prison. Prisons are lit up like a Xmas trees. I'm sick of all the shows that the photographers chose to make with bad lighting. The story is good but half the time I don't know who's speaking it's so dark. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 04/30/24 Full Review Mike P People have already nicknamed this show "Narnia"...(Because it's the British "Oz"! Get it?)... I would actually say this gritty, dark cinema-verite potboiler served up by the constables over at BRITBOX is MUCH BETTER than that earlier HBO exploitation melodrama.... Anchored by the incredibly believable and moving portrait by Sean Bean as the Job-like central character; the put-upon Mark; who is continually suffering on this sad and brutally realistic crime drama...And the show definitely offers up it's share of powerful "crime does not pay" sermonizing...As well as stunning work on the storytelling level; as we see this hapless victim-hero's descent into the nether regions of hell and despair...The show is also a strong docudrama about the inequities of the system; as well as a strong indictment of class conflict and exploitation in modern Western society...Very moving and successful on a variety of different levels..(It DID win two BAFTA awards, and was showered with international acclaim from the critics)...Overall: Highly Recommended Britbox Crime Drama and Captivity Drama hits home on many levels... Rated 4.5/5 Stars • Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Katia C Hard and thought provoking. Makes you see different sides and life long consequences to huge errors that can be made in live. Excellent performances. Worth watching. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/06/24 Full Review John L This was fantastic sean beans Best acting role.Must see Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/28/23 Full Review Store Paws P This is a tense and gritty prison drama. Although there are only 3 episodes, not one minute is wasted as all the characters are well written and integral (even poor Bernard). Sean Bean and Stephen Graham give stellar performances without trying to tug on the heartstrings too much! Highly recommended and I can't wait for a second series. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/14/23 Full Review Melodie B "Time" is worth your time. A gritty and real portrayal of humans at their best, worst and the interplay between the two. The central cast are compelling and the show deals with it subject matter and themes with subtley and tact. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Read all reviews
