Constance L. Newth Pita it WESTFIELD Constance L. (Webster) Newth, 74, of 52 Casimir died Monday in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. She worked in Springfield City Hall for many years and also worked for the Springfield Fire and Marine Insurance Co. Born in 'Vinalhaven, Maine, she lived in Springfield for many years before moving here 27 years ago.

She was a member of First Congregational Church in Westfield. She a member of the order of the Eastern Star Chapter 5 of Westfield and the Jay W. Nickels Rebekah Lodge 183 IOOF and was a Past Noble Grand. She was a member of the 104th Infantry Retirees Association. Her husband, Odbur B.

Born in Westfield, she lived in Springfield for the past 65 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Rosary Church. She was a member of the Springfield Golden Agers. Her husband, Adam J. Dziadzio, died in 1994.

She leaves a son, Richard A. of Wilbrahain; a daughter, Barbara J. Falkowski of Enfield, and a brother, Edmund Gosiewski of Springfield. The funeral will be Tuesday morning at Kozikowski Funeral Home and in the church, with burial in St. Stanislaus Cemin Chicopee.

She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish and most recently of St. Mary's of the Assumption Church. She was a former member of the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and a member of the Pocahontas organization. She leaves nephews and nieces. The funeral will be Tuesday morning at McCarthy Funeral Home in Greenfield and in St.

William K. Simmons SPRINGFIELD William K. Simmons, 73, of 2 Fair Oak Road, died Friday at Baystate Medical Center. He worked as a union carpenter and roofer from 1971 to 1992 for Carpenter Local 745. He also worked the front end at Big market on Boston Road.

He lived most of his life on Oahu. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was a graduated of Kalakau High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II and Korea, serving for 13 years in the armed forces. He also had a tour of duty in Japan. He leaves his wife, the former Elke Schultz; a stepdaughter, Kimberlee Pages of Springfield; two brothers and four sisters of Hawaii; and two grandchildren.

CHICOPEE Claude J. Carriere 67, of this city, died Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. He was a 40-year tool polisher at the former Moore Drop Forge Co. in Springfield, later Easco Hand and now Danaher Tools, retiring in 1995. Born in Holyoke, he lived in Winchendon for 20 years before moving here in 1988.

He was a member of the Chicopee Lodge of Elks 1849 and the Knights of Columbus Council 69. He. leaves a daughter, Gail C. May of Chicopee; and a grandson, Jayson M. May of Winchendon.

Yvonne M. Melanson HOLIDAY, Fla. Yvonne Marie (Blanchard) Melanson, 85, of 4916 Genesis died Tuesday at Harborside Healthcare in Palm Harbor, Fla. Born in St. Louis, New Brunswick, Canada, she was a longtime Springfield, resident prior to moving to Florida in 1976.

She was a former communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Springfield and a communicant of St. 'Vincent de Paul Church in Florida. Her husband, Antoine J. Melanson died in 1996.

She leaves two brothers, Camille Blanchard of St. Louis, New Brunswick, and Ernest Blanchard of St. Anthony, New Brunswick; and a sister, Irene H. Gauvin of Holiday and Cape Cod, Mass. The funeral will be Tuesday morning from St.

Pierre Springfield Funeral Chapels and in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Chicopee, with burial in St. Michael's Cemetery in Springfield. He served the Army Air Forces during World War II. He was a pioneer member of the Franconia Golf Club and served as its president in 1948.
